Isaiah 26: Perfect peace
Read Isaiah 26:1-21 before you meet.
In a few lines
The "perfect peace" of 26:3 is the Hebrew word for peace said twice, shalom shalom, kept for the one who trusts. And the chapter says the same words two ways: "The dead shall not live" (26:14), then "Your dead shall live" (26:19), the same Hebrew words without the "not".
The verse to carry
“You will keep whoever’s mind is steadfast in perfect peace, because he trusts in you.”
Isaiah 26:3
To talk about
1. "You will keep whoever’s mind is steadfast in perfect peace, because he trusts in you" (26:3). Where does your mind most need to lean on God this week?
2. "With my soul I have desired you in the night" (26:9). When is it hardest for you to seek God, and what has helped you?
3. "We gave birth, it seems, only to wind" (26:18), and "you have also done all our work for us" (26:12). What have you been trying to carry in your own strength that you could hand to God?
