Isaiah 2: The LORD alone will be exalted
Read Isaiah 2:1-22 before you meet.
In a few lines
The LORD's mountain is "raised above the hills" (2:2), and his day is "for all the hills that are lifted up" (2:14): in Hebrew raised and lifted up are one verb. One mountain is raised; on the LORD's day "all that is lifted up" "shall be brought low" (2:12), "and the LORD alone will be exalted in that day" (2:11).
The verse to carry
“House of Jacob, come, and let’s walk in the light of the LORD.”
Isaiah 2:5
To talk about
1. "he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths" (2:3). What is one thing you have learned from God's word that changed the way you walk?
2. "and the LORD alone will be exalted in that day" (2:11). What helps you keep the LORD first when other things feel big?
3. "Stop trusting in man, whose breath is in his nostrils" (2:22). Where do you notice yourself leaning on something other than the LORD, and what might it look like to let go?
