Hebrews 3: Exhort one another day by day
Read Hebrews 3:1-19 before you meet.
In a few lines
The words "Today if you will hear his voice" come twice in Hebrews 3 (3:7, 3:15), and between them the letter speaks today to its own readers: "exhort one another day by day, so long as it is called “today”" (3:13). And behind rebellion (3:8, 3:15) and rebelled (3:16) are a Greek noun and the verb Strong's gives it as coming from, which the New Testament has nowhere else.
The verse to carry
“but exhort one another day by day, so long as it is called “today”, lest any one of you be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.”
Hebrews 3:13
To talk about
1. "exhort one another day by day" (3:13). Who could you exhort, or be exhorted by, this week?
2. "Today if you will hear his voice" (3:7). The chapter gives these words twice (3:7, 3:15). What stands out to you in them?
3. "he who built all things is God" (3:4). Where this week did you notice something that reminded you of these words?
