Hebrews 2: So great a salvation
Read Hebrews 2:1-18 before you meet.
In a few lines
In Hebrews 2, it became him (2:10) doesn't mean he became something: behind became is a verb Strong's gives as "to be suitable or proper". And the penalty that every transgression and disobedience received (2:2) is the same Greek noun the WEB later gives as reward (Hebrews 10:35): Strong's gives it as "requital (good or bad)".
The verse to carry
“Therefore we ought to pay greater attention to the things that were heard, lest perhaps we drift away.”
Hebrews 2:1
To talk about
1. "What is man, that you think of him? Or the son of man, that you care for him?" (2:6). What do these words stir in you as you hear them?
2. "But now we don’t yet see all things subjected to him. But we see him who has been made a little lower than the angels, Jesus" (2:8-9). What do you make of the letter saying both of these, one right after the other?
3. "in bringing many children to glory" (2:10). What comes to mind when you hear the letter speak of many children being brought to glory?
