Genesis 24: A wife for Isaac
Read Genesis 24:1-67 before you meet.
In a few lines
Abraham's servant prayed at a well for a sign, and Rebekah came before he had finished speaking. He praised the LORD for his loving kindness and truth, the Bible's first use of the word truth, and said, "the LORD has led me." Rebekah said, "I will go", Isaac loved her, and he was comforted after his mother's death.
The verse to carry
“He said, “Blessed be the LORD, the God of my master Abraham, who has not forsaken his loving kindness and his truth toward my master. As for me, the LORD has led me on the way to the house of my master’s relatives.””
Genesis 24:27
To talk about
1. The servant prayed a specific prayer before he acted. How do you bring your decisions to God?
2. Rebekah said, "I will go", to a place and a husband she had never seen. What makes that kind of step hard for you?
3. The servant said, "the LORD has led me on the way." Looking back, where can you see the LORD leading you?
