Genesis 2: Dust and breath
Read Genesis 2:4-25 before you meet.
In a few lines
Genesis 2 comes down to the ground. God, now named as the LORD, shapes a man from the dust like a potter, breathes the breath of life into him, gives him work and one limit, and calls only one thing not good, being alone, before he makes a partner who matches him.
The verse to carry
“The LORD God formed man from the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”
Genesis 2:7
To talk about
1. Work was part of the garden before anything went wrong. How does that change the way you see your own work this week?
2. God called being alone "not good". Where do you need other people right now, and who might need you?
3. The chapter ends with two people naked and not ashamed, with nothing to hide. What makes it hard to be known like that, and what helps?
