Galatians 5: Called for freedom
Read Galatians 5:1-26 before you meet.
In a few lines
In Galatians 5:1, liberty and made us free are a noun and a verb that Strong's gives as from one word; the be servants of 5:13 is the verb behind bondage in 4:8; the two walks of 5:16 and 5:25 are two different Greek verbs; and in "the fruit of the Spirit is" (5:22), fruit is one noun, singular in the Greek.
The verse to carry
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.”
Galatians 5:22-23
To talk about
1. "For you, brothers, were called for freedom. Only don’t use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love be servants to one another." (5:13). Where have you seen someone use their freedom to serve others?
2. "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith," (5:22) "gentleness, and self-control." (5:23). Which of these have you seen in someone lately, and what did it look like?
3. "Let’s not become conceited, provoking one another, and envying one another." (5:26). What helps people who study together keep from provoking and envying one another?
