Galatians 4: An heir of God
Read Galatians 4:1-31 before you meet.
In a few lines
Galatians 4 begins with an heir who, while a child, "is no different from a bondservant" (4:1), and soon says, "So you are no longer a bondservant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ." (4:7). Between them, "God sent out his Son" (4:4), and "God sent out the Spirit of his Son" (4:6).
The verse to carry
“So you are no longer a bondservant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.”
Galatians 4:7
To talk about
1. "God sent out the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, “Abba, Father!”" (4:6). What would it be like to begin your prayers this week with those words?
2. "So then, have I become your enemy by telling you the truth?" (4:16). When has someone told you something true that was hard to hear, and how did you take it?
3. "But it is always good to be zealous in a good cause, and not only when I am present with you." (4:18). What good cause are you zealous for, and what keeps you at it?
