Exodus 36: More than enough
Read Exodus 36 before you meet.
In a few lines
Exodus uses the Hebrew verb for "restrained" (kala') only once: when the people had to be held back from giving, because they had brought "much more than enough" (36:5-6). And the word for "the service of the sanctuary" (36:1) is the word Exodus used for Israel's "hard service" in Egypt (1:14).
The verse to carry
“They spoke to Moses, saying, “The people have brought much more than enough for the service of the work which the LORD commanded to make.””
Exodus 36:5
To talk about
1. The people kept giving until they had to be told to stop (36:6). What would it take for you to give like that, and what holds you back?
2. The same word Exodus used for Israel's "hard service" in Egypt (1:14) now names "the service of the sanctuary" (36:1). How is serving God different from the work that has worn you down?
3. Most of this chapter is careful work done just as the LORD had said (36:1). Where does being faithful in ordinary, repeated tasks matter in your life right now?
