Exodus 3: Holy ground

Read Exodus 3:1-22 before you meet.

In a few lines

At the bush God said he had already seen, heard and come down to deliver his people. To Moses' "Who am I?" he answered "I will be with you", with the same word he used for his name, I AM. He named himself the LORD, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and Jesus read that name as proof that the dead are raised.

The verse to carry

“God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM,” and he said, “You shall tell the children of Israel this: ‘I AM has sent me to you.’””

Exodus 3:14

To talk about

  1. 1. Moses asked, "Who am I?" and God answered, "I will be with you." When have you felt not enough for something God put in front of you?

  2. 2. God said, "I have surely seen the affliction of my people… I know their sorrows." What difference does it make to you that God sees and knows before anything changes?

  3. 3. Jesus read "I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob" and said, "He is not the God of the dead, but of the living." How does that change the way you think about people who have died trusting God?
