Exodus 29: That I might dwell among them
Read Exodus 29 before you meet.
In a few lines
Aaron and his sons were washed, dressed and anointed (29:4-9, 29:21), and after a sin offering (29:10-14) marked with blood on the right ear, thumb and big toe (29:20). Then the LORD said why he had brought Israel out of Egypt at all: "that I might dwell among them" (29:46).
The verse to carry
“I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will be their God.”
Exodus 29:45
To talk about
1. The LORD says he brought Israel out of Egypt "that I might dwell among them" (29:46). Think of something God has brought you out of. How does it change things to think he did it so he could be with you?
2. Every morning and every evening a lamb was offered, "day by day continually" (29:38-39). What marks the start and end of your days, and what place does God have in them?
3. Aaron and his sons were made holy before they could serve (29:44). Hebrews says, "by one offering he has perfected forever those who are being sanctified" (Hebrews 10:14). Where is it hardest for you to believe you've been made fit to come near to God?
