Ephesians 2: Made alive, built together
Read Ephesians 2:1-22 before you meet.
In a few lines
Ephesians 1 says God "raised him from the dead and made him to sit at his right hand in the heavenly places" (Ephesians 1:20). Ephesians 2 says it of us, with him: God "raised us up with him, and made us to sit with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus" (2:6).
The verse to carry
“So then you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and of the household of God,”
Ephesians 2:19
To talk about
1. "But God, being rich in mercy, for his great love with which he loved us" (2:4). What do these words tell you about God?
2. "So then you are no longer strangers and foreigners" (2:19). When have you been welcomed in as one of the household, and what did it show you?
3. "in whom the whole building, fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord" (2:21). Which of the chapter's last words would you most like to understand better, and why?
