Deuteronomy 2: You have lacked nothing
Read Deuteronomy 2:1-37 before you meet.
In a few lines
Before the LORD said, "I have given into your hand Sihon" (2:24), he told Israel three times he had given land to others: Mount Seir to Esau, Ar and Ammon's land to Lot's children (2:5, 2:9, 2:19). Israel was to pay for its food and water (2:6), and Moses could say of forty years in the wilderness, "You have lacked nothing" (2:7).
The verse to carry
“For the LORD your God has blessed you in all the work of your hands. He has known your walking through this great wilderness. These forty years, the LORD your God has been with you. You have lacked nothing.”
Deuteronomy 2:7
To talk about
1. Moses said, "You have lacked nothing" (2:7), at the end of forty hard years. Looking at your own life honestly, what have you gone without, and what have you never lacked?
2. The LORD told Israel not to fight their brothers for land he had not given them (2:4-5). Where are you tempted to fight for something that was never given to you?
3. Moses sent "words of peace" (2:26) to a king who would refuse them. Who needs words of peace from you this week, whatever they do with them?
