Colossians 4: A door for the word

Read Colossians 4:2-18 before you meet.

In a few lines

Colossians opens and closes with grace (1:2, 4:18). And it gives Epaphras near its start and Tychicus near its end the same words, beloved, faithful and servant, and calls each a fellow servant or fellow bondservant: the same Greek words both times (1:7, 4:7).

The verse to carry

“Continue steadfastly in prayer, watching in it with thanksgiving,”

Colossians 4:2

To talk about

  1. 1. "Continue steadfastly in prayer, watching in it with thanksgiving" (4:2). What helps you keep praying, and giving thanks, through an ordinary week?

  2. 2. Epaphras is "always striving for you in his prayers" (4:12). Who has prayed for you in a way you still remember?

  3. 3. The letter asks to be read in another assembly too (4:16). What from Colossians would you most want to share with another group of believers?
