Acts 8: Beginning from this Scripture
Read Acts 8:1-40 before you meet.
In a few lines
Those who were scattered "went around preaching the word" (8:4), and in the Greek this chapter has that verb of good news five times, as when Philip, "beginning from this Scripture, preached to him about Jesus" (8:35). And Simon, who had amazed Samaria (8:9), "was amazed" himself (8:13): the same verb.
The verse to carry
“Philip opened his mouth, and beginning from this Scripture, preached to him about Jesus.”
Acts 8:35
To talk about
1. Those who were scattered abroad "went around preaching the word" (8:4). Where does your week take you, and who there might want to hear about Jesus?
2. "Do you understand what you are reading?" "How can I, unless someone explains it to me?" (8:30-31). Which part of the Bible would you most like someone to sit with you and explain?
3. "There was great joy in that city" (8:8), and the eunuch "went on his way rejoicing" (8:39). What about Jesus brings you joy right now?
