Acts 5: All the words of this life
Read Acts 5:1-42 before you meet.
In a few lines
The angel said, "Go stand and speak in the temple" (5:20). The officers found "the guards standing before the doors" (5:23) and no one inside; then someone came and said the apostles were in the temple, "standing and teaching the people" (5:25): in Acts's Greek, one verb all three times.
The verse to carry
“Every day, in the temple and at home, they never stopped teaching and preaching Jesus, the Christ.”
Acts 5:42
To talk about
1. Peter says, "You haven’t lied to men, but to God." (5:4). What helps you be honest before God, and with the people you study with?
2. The apostles departed "rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer dishonor for Jesus’ name" (5:41). When have you seen someone keep their joy when following Jesus cost them something?
3. "Every day, in the temple and at home, they never stopped teaching and preaching Jesus, the Christ." (5:42). What would help you speak of Jesus a little more, at home and beyond it?
