Acts 27: All those who sail with you

Read Acts 27:1-44 before you meet.

In a few lines

Paul told them, "there will be no loss of life among you" (27:22), and gave his reason in the words that follow: "For there stood by me this night an angel" (27:23). One Greek verb is behind stood by there and stand before in "You must stand before Caesar." (27:24).

The verse to carry

“Therefore, sirs, cheer up! For I believe God, that it will be just as it has been spoken to me.”

Acts 27:25

To talk about

  1. 1. Paul said, "Therefore, sirs, cheer up! For I believe God, that it will be just as it has been spoken to me." (27:25). What helps you believe what God has said when what you can see doesn't look like it yet?

  2. 2. When Paul "had taken bread, he gave thanks to God in the presence of all" (27:35). Where could you give thanks to God openly this week, in front of the people you are with?

  3. 3. "Julius treated Paul kindly and gave him permission to go to his friends and refresh himself." (27:3). Who has shown you kindness in a hard stretch, and who could you show it to this week?
