Acts 24: Which they call a sect
Read Acts 24:1-27 before you meet.
In a few lines
Tertullus called Paul "a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes" (24:5). When Paul answered, the same Greek noun came back in his own words: "according to the Way, which they call a sect, so I serve the God of our fathers" (24:14).
The verse to carry
“In this I also practice always having a conscience void of offense toward God and men.”
Acts 24:16
To talk about
1. Paul says, "I also practice always having a conscience void of offense toward God and men" (24:16). What would practicing that look like in your week?
2. Paul reasoned "about righteousness, self-control, and the judgment to come" (24:25). Which of these would you find hardest to talk about with someone, and why?
3. Paul speaks of "having hope toward God" (24:15). Where do you most need hope toward God right now?
