Acts 2: Poured out
Read Acts 2:1-47 before you meet.
In a few lines
They asked one another, "What does this mean?" (2:12), and Peter's words came back to the same word: "this is what has been spoken through the prophet Joel" (2:16), and Jesus "has poured out this which you now see and hear" (2:33). In Joel's words God says, "I will pour out my Spirit" (2:17); in the Greek it is the same verb.
The verse to carry
“This Jesus God raised up, to which we all are witnesses.”
Acts 2:32
To talk about
1. "we hear them speaking in our languages the mighty works of God!" (2:11). What is one of the mighty works of God you would most want someone to hear about?
2. "they were cut to the heart" and asked, "Brothers, what shall we do?" (2:37). When has something you read in the Bible left you asking what to do next?
3. "They continued steadfastly in the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and prayer." (2:42). Which of these comes easiest to you, and which is hardest to keep up?
