Acts 16: What must I do to be saved?
Read Acts 16:1-40 before you meet.
In a few lines
Before the jailer ever asked, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" (16:30), a girl had cried for many days that these men "proclaim to us a way of salvation" (16:17). The answer came in one line: "Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved" (16:31).
The verse to carry
“They said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.””
Acts 16:31
To talk about
1. Paul and those with him were "forbidden by the Holy Spirit to speak the word in Asia" (16:6), and then "the Spirit didn’t allow them" (16:7), before the vision of 16:9. When have your own plans been stopped, and something you didn't expect opened up instead?
2. The jailer asked, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" (16:30), and they answered, "Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved" (16:31). If someone asked you that question, what would you say?
3. "But about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them." (16:25). Who hears you pray or praise God, and what might they take from it?
