Acts 15: Through the grace of the Lord Jesus
Read Acts 15:1-41 before you meet.
In a few lines
The men from Judea said, "you can’t be saved" (15:1), and Peter's words end, "we believe that we are saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus, just as they are" (15:11): in the Greek, saved is the same word. And Paul's "Let’s return now and visit" (15:36) has the verbs of James's "turn" (15:19) and "visited" (15:14).
The verse to carry
“But we believe that we are saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus, just as they are.”
Acts 15:11
To talk about
1. Peter says, "we believe that we are saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus, just as they are" (15:11). How does that shape the way you see believers who are very different from you?
2. "All the multitude kept silence, and they listened" (15:12). When people disagree, what helps you listen before you speak?
3. The letter calls them "our beloved Barnabas and Paul" (15:25), and later "they separated from each other" (15:39). What helps you keep loving someone you've disagreed with sharply?
