3 John 1: A faithful work
Read 3 John 1:1-14 before you meet.
In a few lines
3 John is from "The elder to Gaius the beloved" (1:1). It tells him, "you do a faithful work in whatever you accomplish for those who are brothers and strangers" (1:5), and it says, "We therefore ought to receive such, that we may be fellow workers for the truth." (1:8).
The verse to carry
“Beloved, you do a faithful work in whatever you accomplish for those who are brothers and strangers.”
3 John 1:5
To talk about
1. "Beloved, you do a faithful work" (1:5). When has someone done something faithfully for you, and what did it mean to you?
2. "Beloved, don’t imitate that which is evil, but that which is good." (1:11). What is one good thing someone has done that you would like to imitate this week?
3. "Greet the friends by name." (1:14). Who is one person you could greet by name this week, and what might you say?
