2 Thessalonians 1: Your faith grows exceedingly
Read 2 Thessalonians 1:1-12 before you meet.
In a few lines
2 Thessalonians 1 says "your faith grows exceedingly" (1:3): behind grows exceedingly is a verb the New Testament has only here, which Strong's gives as "to increase above ordinary degree". And counted worthy (1:5) and count you worthy (1:11) are two different Greek verbs.
The verse to carry
“that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.”
2 Thessalonians 1:12
To talk about
1. "your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of each and every one of you toward one another abounds" (1:3). Where have you seen faith or love grow in someone you know?
2. "To this end we also pray always for you" (1:11). Whom could you pray for this week, and what would you ask God for them?
3. "that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you" (1:12). What might that look like in an ordinary day this week?
