2 Samuel 6: With all his might
Read 2 Samuel 6:1-23 before you meet.
In a few lines
The chapter's scenes with Michal use the three Hebrew words of 1 Samuel 2:30, "those who honor me I will honor, and those who despise me will be cursed": Michal despised David (6:16), spoke of how "glorious" he was (6:20), and he answered that he would be "yet more undignified" and that the maids would "honor" him (6:22).
The verse to carry
“David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David was clothed in a linen ephod.”
2 Samuel 6:14
To talk about
1. After Uzzah died, David was displeased and afraid, and the ark waited three months before he tried again (6:8-12). When has fear of getting something wrong with God made you set it aside for a while?
2. David danced before the LORD "with all his might" (6:14). What would worshiping God with all your might look like for you this week?
3. Michal watched from a window and despised what she saw (6:16). When have you judged someone else's worship from a distance, and what might you have missed?
