2 Corinthians 7: Godly sorrow
Read 2 Corinthians 7:1-16 before you meet.
In a few lines
2 Corinthians 7 sets two sorrows side by side: "For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, which brings no regret. But the sorrow of the world produces death." (7:10). And the God it names is "he who comforts the lowly" (7:6).
The verse to carry
“For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, which brings no regret. But the sorrow of the world produces death.”
2 Corinthians 7:10
To talk about
1. "Open your hearts to us." (7:2). What helps you make room in your heart for someone?
2. "he who comforts the lowly, God, comforted us by the coming of Titus" (7:6). Has someone's coming ever been a comfort to you? Share it if you'd like to.
3. "I rejoice that in everything I am confident concerning you." (7:16). Who could you tell this week that you're glad about them, and what would you say?
