2 Chronicles 31: Plenty left over

Read 2 Chronicles 31:1-21 before you meet.

In a few lines

The heaps grew from the third month to the seventh, and the chief priest's report was, "we have eaten and had enough, and have plenty left over, for the LORD has blessed his people" (31:10). And the verse that calls Hezekiah "faithful" (31:20) is followed by "After these things and this faithfulness, Sennacherib king of Assyria came" (32:1).

The verse to carry

“In every work that he began in the service of God’s house, in the law, and in the commandments, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart and prospered.”

2 Chronicles 31:21

To talk about

  1. 1. Hezekiah and the princes saw the heaps and "blessed the LORD and his people Israel" (31:8). Whose faithfulness have you seen lately, and have you thanked God for them, and told them?

  2. 2. The portions went "to the great as well as to the small" (31:15), down to the little ones (31:18). Who in your group or home is easy to overlook, and what would it look like to include them this week?

  3. 3. "In every work that he began… he did it with all his heart" (31:21). What have you started that you're doing with only half your heart, and what would it take to give it your whole heart?
