2 Chronicles 27: He ordered his ways
Read 2 Chronicles 27:1-9 before you meet.
In a few lines
The one thing Jotham didn't copy from his father is told with the same Hebrew verb and the same word for temple as his father's trespass: Uzziah "went into the LORD’s temple" (26:16); Jotham "didn’t enter into the LORD’s temple" (27:2). And 2 Chronicles gives the reason he became mighty: "he ordered his ways before the LORD his God" (27:6).
The verse to carry
“So Jotham became mighty, because he ordered his ways before the LORD his God.”
2 Chronicles 27:6
To talk about
1. Jotham did right "according to all that his father Uzziah had done. However he didn’t enter into the LORD’s temple" (27:2). What have you kept from those before you, and what have you chosen not to repeat?
2. Jotham "ordered his ways before the LORD his God" (27:6). What would ordering one part of your week before God look like?
3. The king did right, yet "The people still acted corruptly" (27:2). When you try to do right, how much do you expect it to change the people around you?
