2 Chronicles 2: Heaven can't contain him
Read 2 Chronicles 2:1-18 before you meet.
In a few lines
In 2 Chronicles Solomon says it before the building begins: "heaven and the heaven of heavens can’t contain him" (2:6). And the one who answers, "Because the LORD loves his people, he has made you king over them" (2:11), is the king of Tyre, blessing the LORD "who made heaven and earth" (2:12).
The verse to carry
“But who is able to build him a house, since heaven and the heaven of heavens can’t contain him? Who am I then, that I should build him a house, except just to burn incense before him?”
2 Chronicles 2:6
To talk about
1. Solomon asked, "Who am I then, that I should build him a house?" (2:6), and built it anyway. When has something God asked of you felt too big for you, and what helped you begin?
2. Huram, a king outside Israel, wrote, "Because the LORD loves his people, he has made you king over them" (2:11). Who outside your own circle has helped you see God's goodness more clearly?
3. The house needed Huram-abi's skill in gold, stone, timber and cloth (2:14), and thousands of other hands (2:18). What skill or strength of yours could serve God's work, and who could you work beside?
