2 Chronicles 18: What my God says
Read 2 Chronicles 18:1-34 before you meet.
In a few lines
2 Chronicles tells something 1 Kings doesn't: "Jehoshaphat cried out, and the LORD helped him; and God moved them to depart from him" (18:31). And in Hebrew moved there is the verb of 18:2, where Ahab "moved him to go up with him to Ramoth Gilead". Ahab moved him into the battle; God moved the enemy away from him.
The verse to carry
“Micaiah said, “As the LORD lives, I will say what my God says.””
2 Chronicles 18:13
To talk about
1. Ahab feasted Jehoshaphat and then "moved him to go up with him" (18:2). What kinds of kindness or pressure make it hard for you to say no?
2. The messenger asked Micaiah to "speak good" like the others (18:12), and he answered, "I will say what my God says" (18:13). Where do you feel pressure to say what people want to hear?
3. Jehoshaphat had gone up with Ahab (18:28), and when the captains turned on him, he "cried out, and the LORD helped him" (18:31). What do you do when trouble comes from a choice you made yourself?
