1 Timothy 6: Great gain
Read 1 Timothy 6:1-21 before you meet.
In a few lines
In 1 Timothy 6, a means of gain and great gain are one Greek noun, which the New Testament has only in these two verses: some "suppose that godliness is a means of gain" (6:5), but "godliness with contentment is great gain" (6:6). And the letter whose greeting gives "Grace, mercy, and peace" (1:2) ends, "Grace be with you. Amen." (6:21).
The verse to carry
“But godliness with contentment is great gain.”
1 Timothy 6:6
To talk about
1. "But godliness with contentment is great gain." (6:6). When have you known contentment, and what helped you find it?
2. "Fight the good fight of faith." (6:12). What helps you keep going in faith when it is hard?
3. 1 Timothy ends, "Grace be with you. Amen." (6:21). Looking back over the whole letter, which words will you carry with you?
