1 Peter 5: The true grace of God
Read 1 Peter 5:1-14 before you meet.
In a few lines
The inheritance of 1:4 and the crown of glory of 5:4 are each one "that doesn’t fade away" (1:4, 5:4), and Strong's gives the word behind 5:4's as made from the word behind 1:4's. And the letter's last verse says, "Peace be to all of you who are in Christ Jesus." (5:14).
The verse to carry
“Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.”
1 Peter 5:8
To talk about
1. "Yes, all of you clothe yourselves with humility" (5:5). What would that look like in one ordinary part of your week?
2. "Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful." (5:8). What helps you stay watchful in an ordinary day?
3. "Peace be to all of you who are in Christ Jesus." (5:14). How could you bring a word of peace to someone in your group this week?
