1 Peter 2: As newborn babies
Read 1 Peter 2:1-25 before you meet.
In a few lines
In 1 Peter 2, right after "all deceit" is put away (2:1), the milk to long for is "pure" (2:2), and Strong's gives the word behind pure as made from the word behind deceit: milk without deceit. And at 2:11 the letter's own I speaks for the first time, begging its "Beloved" as "foreigners and pilgrims".
The verse to carry
“Live as free people, yet not using your freedom for a cloak of wickedness, but as bondservants of God.”
1 Peter 2:16
To talk about
1. "Putting away therefore all wickedness, all deceit, hypocrisies, envies, and all evil speaking" (2:1). What helps a group of people put these things away together?
2. "they may see your good works and glorify God" (2:12). Have you ever seen someone's good works lead others to give glory to God? What happened?
3. "Honor all men. Love the brotherhood." (2:17). What might it look like in an ordinary week to "Honor all men"?
