1 John 5: This is the victory
Read 1 John 5:1-21 before you meet.
In a few lines
In 5:4-5 the chapter speaks three times of overcoming the world: "For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world" (5:4), and 5:5 asks who overcomes it. The letter's last verse is "Little children, keep yourselves from idols." (5:21).
The verse to carry
“The testimony is this: that God gave to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has the life. He who doesn’t have God’s Son doesn’t have the life.”
1 John 5:11-12
