1 Corinthians 3: God gave the increase
Read 1 Corinthians 3:1-23 before you meet.
In a few lines
The sayings "I follow Paul" and "I follow Apollos" (3:4) come back turned around: "whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come. All are yours, and you are Christ’s" (3:22-23). And in the Greek, fed in "I fed you with milk" (3:2) is the verb of "Apollos watered" (3:6).
The verse to carry
“Don’t you know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit lives in you?”
1 Corinthians 3:16
To talk about
1. "I planted. Apollos watered. But God gave the increase." (3:6). Who has planted or watered something in your own faith?
2. "Therefore let no one boast in men." (3:21). Why do you think it is easy to boast in people, even good ones?
3. "Let no one deceive himself. If anyone thinks that he is wise among you in this world, let him become a fool that he may become wise." (3:18). Where do you think it is easiest to deceive yourself about being wise?
