1 Corinthians 15: Not in vain
Read 1 Corinthians 15:1-58 before you meet.
In a few lines
In 1 Corinthians 15, "His grace which was given to me was not futile" (15:10), "your faith also is in vain" if Christ has not been raised (15:14), and the chapter ends, "your labor is not in vain in the Lord" (15:58): in the Greek, one word. And the Greek word behind the dead comes 14 times in the letter, every one of them in this chapter (counted in RP2018).
The verse to carry
“But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
1 Corinthians 15:57
To talk about
1. "But by the grace of God I am what I am." (15:10). What has God's grace made of you that you could not have made yourself?
2. "If we have only hoped in Christ in this life, we are of all men most pitiable." (15:19). What difference does hope beyond this life make to an ordinary week for you?
3. "your labor is not in vain in the Lord" (15:58). What work have you wondered was worth it, and how do these words land on it?
