1 Chronicles 27: Like the stars of the sky
Read 1 Chronicles 27:1-34 before you meet.
In a few lines
David didn't number those twenty years old and under "because the LORD had said he would increase Israel like the stars of the sky" (27:23): in Hebrew, the same verb and the same words for the stars of the sky as the LORD's promise to Abraham and to Isaac (Genesis 22:17, 26:4). And the count Joab began, he "didn’t finish" (27:24).
The verse to carry
“But David didn’t take the number of them from twenty years old and under, because the LORD had said he would increase Israel like the stars of the sky.”

To talk about
1. David didn't number those twenty years old and under "because the LORD had said he would increase Israel like the stars of the sky" (27:23). What is something God has said that changes what you do, or don't do, this week?
2. The chapter names a man over each part of the king's property: treasures, fields, vineyards, olive trees, herds and flocks (27:25-31). What has been put in your care right now, and how are you looking after it?
3. The king had a counselor and a friend (27:33). Who gives you counsel, and who is a friend to you? What's the difference in how each helps you?
