1 Chronicles 22: Arise and be doing
Read 1 Chronicles 22:1-19 before you meet.
In a few lines
Where the WEB has "a man of peace" (22:9), the Hebrew is ish menuchah, a man of rest. David, told he had "shed blood abundantly" (22:8), couldn't build the house, so he "prepared abundantly" (22:5) for his son, and the place already had its name: "This is the house of the LORD God" (22:1).
The verse to carry
“Then you will prosper, if you observe to do the statutes and the ordinances which the LORD gave Moses concerning Israel. Be strong and courageous. Don’t be afraid and don’t be dismayed.”
1 Chronicles 22:13
To talk about
1. David said he prepared for the LORD's house "in my affliction" (22:14). What have you been able to give to God in a hard season, and what did it cost you?
2. "Be strong and courageous. Don’t be afraid and don’t be dismayed" (22:13). What in front of you right now needs those words?
3. David told the princes, "Now set your heart and your soul to follow the LORD your God" (22:19). What pulls your heart another way, and what helps you set it again?
